The engine
One engine for document and liveness verification.
Every thibit verification runs through one in-house engine — there is no vendor orchestration layer. You reach it over the /v1 API and a hosted onboarding page; it returns an advisory assessment with the evidence behind it. The decision is yours.
OCR + template match
Reads the document and validates it against a per-(country, doctype) definition — ICAO 9303 MRZ check digits plus per-country ID-number rules. The Mozambican BI and Mexican INE carry per-country tuned templates; passports from any country run via MRZ, review-based while calibration matures.
Authenticity
EXIF/metadata fingerprints plus a vision-model document-authenticity check surface edited or re-captured images as review evidence.
Liveness & face match
Guided capture with quality gating, an active liveness challenge — blink, turn, nod — verified server-side, and a face match against the document photo. Conservative and review-biased while calibration matures.
Assessment
Folds the whole bundle into a neutral advisory assessment — no_material_concerns, manual_review_recommended, material_inconsistency, or assessment_incomplete — with per-check evidence, delivered by HMAC webhook or polling. You make the decision.
